Cake In A Mug

There’s so many cake in a mug recipes out there! This one is pretty simple, and easy to customise…

This is the plain vanilla cake, add sprinkles, choc chips, or anything you desire!

This was made by just adding cocoa powder, but adding extra choc chips and serving with ice-cream would elevate it to the next level!

Time: Prep - 5 Minutes, Cooking - 1 Minute

Makes: 1 Mug

Keeps: Best Eaten Fresh

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup / 40g - Self-Raising Flour

  • 2 TSP / 10g - Caster Sugar

  • 2 TSP / 10g - Butter

  • 1 TSP / 5g - Vanilla Paste

  • 1/4 Cup / 55ml - Full Cream Milk

  • (Optional) Pinch - Salt

  • (Optional) at least 2 TSP / 5g - Cocoa Powder*

  • (Optional) Top with scoop of ice-cream

Method:

  1. Measure all ingredients into a microwave safe mug

  2. Combine all ingredients thoroughly with a spoon or tiny whisk (make sure the flour doesn’t stick to the bottom of the mug!)

  3. Put the mug in the microwave for 1 minute - the time may change depending on your microwave

  4. Clean up your workspace

  5. Enjoy!

*Adding more cocoa powder will make the mixture thicker and denser, adding a splash more milk will help but will extend the cooking time.

If your cake in a mug is crumbly it either was cooked too long or needs more liquid.

Have fun with your new recipe, and stay safe in the kitchen!
